How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?

Honestly, it feels good to be the topper of the college. All credit goes to my parents, my principal and the faculties because they believed in my potentials n supported me. This is the very first time I have topped in my college so I didn’t had any success mantra except my hard work and my belief in myself.

Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?

Yes, I had prepared a time table for Practical Subjects(FM and SSF). Basically I started studying the practical subjects from beginning of the semester and rest theory subject I started studying when only 2 months were left for the exam. My strategy was to work hard on the subjects which were difficult first.

Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

Yes BMS students requires a coaching classes especially for Practical subjects(FM and SSF). In other case they don’t need coaching classes if they go to the college regularly and if they can easily understand the concept from their college professor’s.

Yes, Even I had joined a coaching classes for FM and SSF.

What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?

My specialization subject was SSF(Special studies in Finance). I took SSF because it is my favourite and interesting subject. I have always scored good marks in accounts or practical subjects since junior college. The main reason behind taking this subject is that I want to make my career in Finance field only.

Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?

1.      HRM : Vipul Prakashan
2.   SSM : Rishabh Publication
3.   FM : Worksheet of Coaching Classes
4.   Logistic and SCM : Rishabh & Sheth Publication
5.   Business Ethics : Rishabh Publication
6.   SS Finance : Worksheet Of Coaching Classes

Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?

Worst Paper :

Business Ethics and Service Sector were my worst papers because the concept were little difficult. Since all the concept differs from each other so it was difficult to keep the track of all concept. The professor (Prof. Nawal Khan) which I had got for Business Ethics was very helpful. She made subject very easier to understand. Similarly for SSM I have got the best experienced faculty (Prof. Bharati Shetty) who was equally helpful. So it was easier to recall the concepts with the help of their clear n easy explanations.

Best Paper :

Financial Management is my favorite subject so it was very easy subject for me.

Although I had joined coaching classes but still it was my best paper & even SSF was my favorite subject. Both these subjects helped me in increasing my percentage.

Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

Exams can cause depression and can lead to suicide at extreme levels. These situations can be avoided by self motivation and family support. I didn’t followed any special technique but at these stressful times I kept my self esteem high and my family and friends were there to support me constantly.

The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.

I had made a project on Recruitment and Selection in AVIVA Life Insurance. My whole experience was really good. I explored the whole process and in a way the project helped me to study the practical application of theory.

Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future  plans?

No I did not pursue any additional courses and internship. And basically my future plans are, after my BMS degree I will work with a reputed corporate company and then I will go higher studies i.e MBA in Finance

Any tips and advises for your juniors?

I would like to advice the following to my juniors:

1.      Don’t just mug up the answers. Instead understand the concept as it will help you in writing the answers.
2.      Select your specialization subject as per your interest. SSF is scoring then SSM so think over it.
3.      Select the project topic which has more primary data instead of just copying the same project of your friend. Don’t bluff during vivas. Speak whatever you know about your project and about your field visit.
4.      We become what we think about.
