What are Courses of Action?

Courses of Action : The alternative courses of action or strategies are the acts that are available to decision maker. A problem can not exist unless the decision maker has a choice from among at least two alternate actions at his disposal. e.g.

(i)      To produce 1000 units of certain product

(ii)     To produce more than 1000 units but less   than 2000 units or

(iii)    To produce more than 2000 units.

These alternatives are called Acts. Acts are denoted by A1, A2,…, An.
