Hello BMSites! Lets start with what all things you need to keep in mind while choosing a college for BMS. Lets have a look,
Reputation of the college:
To start with, the college you complete your BMS in, matters a lot for your future jobs and profile. It’s very important to have a good college name in your resume. While choosing a college, ask your friends, family, make use of the internet or go through the newspapers to know the best college suited for you. Also, the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) awards a rating out of 4 for each college affiliated to the university. This rating is given by looking at various aspects such as Infrastructure, Academic record, Faculty, etc. Generally, the colleges having a NAAC rating above 3 or 3.25 out of 4 should be preferred while taking the admission.
Faculty:
Faculty plays a very important role especially in a course like BMS as BMS students need special guidance, unlike B.Com students. The professors have a challenging role of moulding the students into the GenNext leaders of the future corporate world. Its very important to get in a college which provides excellent faculty.
Infrastructure:
As you all know, BMS students have a lot of presentations, project works and assignments. For proper presentations to be conducted, the college should have facilities such as Laptops exclusively for BMS Classes, Projectors, Podium or preferably an Audio Visual Room having all these facilities so that the students get a feel of giving formal presentations as they have to give in future.
Industrial visits:
An important aspect of this course is, the much beloved Industrial Visits or IVs. IVs enable the students to get an on-hands experience of visiting a factory or a plant and knowing about the entire process of manufacturing, processing, packaging and delivering of a product. These visits help the students in practically knowing the process which they only read in the textbooks.
Summer Internships:
Most of the colleges offer internships to students in summer vacations. These internships help in getting a very good experience of the running of an organization and most students also get an internship certificate, which enhances their resumes.
Placements:
Colleges do offer placements for their TY graduated students. Do check out the college offering the best jobs with lucrative pay packages.
Crowd:
The students you learn and deal with play a very important role in your overall personality. Generally, it is ideal to deal with students who are focused and goal-oriented as it affects your mind too. Crowd Does Matter!
Canteen:
According to students, this is the most sought-after and busiest place in the whole of college. The well established colleges have clean and hygienic canteens and mostly, they are quite reasonable too. Because they know, students thrive on pocket money!
Exposure to the Corporate World:
Go for a college which is well exposed to the corporate word as it helps you to get to know the current trends in the corporate world and choose your career accordingly.
Seminars and Events in College:
Choose a college which holds a lot of seminars and events for its students as you get to know different people and network with them.
