Hi,
I am Punit Punjabi, currently a first year BAF student of Jai Hind College. I had written an essay before my admission to FYBAF of how my life would have been if I had got admission in the BMS course. Please read the essay below to know why I was so attracted to the BMS course:
I Punit Punjabi passed std. 12th from Jai Hind College and currently pursuing BMS from the same. BMS is a three year degree course, with six semesters, managed by a full-time and visiting faculty drawn from the Industrial and Service sectors. The college is committed to providing in-depth training using the latest equipment in computers, practical experience, industrial visits and summer placements wherever possible.
BMS has more benefits than other courses. It is a course in which one can learn about management studies and business. What one can do at Management level working as a Director, Manager, either have own firm. BMS is the platform where we learn how to do all the management jobs. It helps one how to build a trust in the company. How to co-ordinate with other people like colleagues.
BMS helps as a tool to get the job done. BMS programme is all about having one integrated business system to help everyone to get their job done more easily. It will standardize the Council’s finance, procurement and HR systems and processes into one, easy to use system. This will transform the way the council does business and how to manage people, money and service. BMS will involve significant change in the way we run our business. Existing departmentally based ‘transactional’ activities within finance, HR, procurement and payroll will be brought together into a shared service team, all using one system.
BMS will introduce the concept of self-service for employees and managers with computer access. There is no ‘typical’ BMS volunteer, no ‘average’ placement and no fixed schedule that you have to fit into. Spending the time on studying widens one’s perspective. Doing short term job as a part of that study can change one’s life. Short term goals are of a great opportunity to put one’s study into practice, to use one’s time to both learn and develop new professional skills, while also serving others.
Whatever one’s academic discipline it might be possible for one to spend part of a course or one of the vacations doing something related to one‘s studies. The course enhances my knowledge, skills and gain experience. I wish to learn every moment of time so my every time goal is to learn all things as much as I can.
I have learned that long term goals are best achieved when I break them into shorter goals. My short term goal is to find a position that will put me in a forward moving company with solid performances and future projections. As a part of a team, I want to add value and continue to grow the company. My long term goal will depend on where the company goes. My plan is to move into a position of responsibility where I can lead a team”.
My long term plan is to pursue MBA and become a responsible and a respectable person in the company as well as in the society. Not only this but also face challenging responsibilities and become a role model for others. I will try to develop the company with help of my hard work and smart work by taking huge responsibilities and excel in leadership skills.
