On 2nd January 2014, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan decided that the Republic day function will be held in Marine Drive instead of Shivaji Park from this year.
A parade of Air Force contingents and colorful floats from different parts of the state will be there. Also a cash prizes will be given to the best floats.
1st prize – Rs. 50 lakh
2nd prize – Rs. 25 lakh
3rd prize – 15 lakhs
