For those who cry “Why Me”, here’s a story to ponder over. Amin Sheikh who’s mother a domestic help and step father a drunkard and a little sister Sara had a reason to leave home and now make a dream of a Cafe Bombay to Barcelona.
Like most uneducated father’s who find no reason but get drunk and beat their child due to their incapability, Amin was one such victim. But he never lost hope and with a beautiful smile said to the world “Try Me” and not “Why Me”. He left his home and found a home at railway stations begging, borrowing and also being a victim of physical abuse.
Then came a good Samaritan- Sr. Seraphine when his life took a new turn where he was taken to a new home – Sneha Sadan. Life was not easy there too reluctant and scared, like every child mischievous and naughty many a times he tried to escape and at times also succeeded. But his destiny got him back.
In life he came across many good and bad, choices he had to make he took the hard way to be nice and humble in this cruel world filled with nice people, he choose to say SMILE WITHOUT A REASON, WHY BECAUSE LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL. Now he’s set on his journey to make a Café “Bombay to Barcelona”, a home for street children like him to work and earn their living.
Who’s Amin?
Amin ran away from home at the early age of five. For three years he survided on the mean streets of Mumbai, begging, polishing shoes… eating off discarded eatables, and sleeping in fear under park benches or in hidden corners of railway stations.
Three years later a nun Sr.Serafina befriended him and took him to Fr Placie at Snehasadan, a home for homeless children. After getting his driving license he was sent to work as chauffeur-cum-Man Friday to a close friend of Snehasadan, Eustace. After two years of honest hard work, he was helped by Eustace to set up his very own Sneha Travels, named after his foster home Snehasadan.
Amin hopes that you will be the next one to help the many young lads yearning for someone to reach out and help.
