Zumba – The Fitness Craze Among Women

Women and fitness is like two sides of the same coin. Some women just love being fit. Women find so many ways of being fit and constantly strive hard to look good and feel good. There are so many fitness classes available just for women. One among which is fitness classes that teach Zumba. Zumba is a Latin dance form which is usually done for losing weight and a fun work out. It is a part that includes workout for the whole body. Women love dancing and Zumba is all about dancing and hip shaking. It is indeed the best workout that one could do. Fitness and women are two things that you find a lot these days.

Zumba has brought in a craze in all the women. Zumba is the best dance form that is coming up in India. Many people pay a bomb in fitness classes and want to go in for Zumba. It’s a combination of tango cha cha cha, Latin dance etc. although people put in their own steps and add on some Indian tadka too it. Zumba is a really effective form of dance and exercise. It isn’t that easy to learn Zumba.

Zumba is the dance form that is usually come from the west and one should try learning this fitness dance form. Well I too tried Zumba and indeed it was an awesome fitness work out for me. I personally love dancing and tried going for Zumba classes although it is a little expensive it is worth it. Zumba is one thing that you cannot learn on your own. You need DVD’s CD’s and viewing it and doing the steps correctly is necessary. There are trained professionals who come to India to teach fitness gurus and teachers and also conduct workshops.

Zumba has brought in a different kind of craze among women. Although the best exercises that you could do is Zumba and aerobics. They are just like dance forms easy and catch numbers could be played it is fun and interesting to do such a dance form. It helps you burn a lot of calories and makes you lose weight in the most interesting manner. When a friend of mine told me about this fitness class I got curious to join this class and decided why not give it a try.

I have always wanted to lose weight and being overweight isn’t in fashion these days.  There was a class that I found near my house. This class was exclusively for ladies and there was no particular dress code that was to be followed. Similarly I had seen so many other women joining the same class as mine. There was a lady trainer she looked so fit and presentable and had a smile on her face. For some reason after trying all the possible means of weight loss I thought this could be it.

Since my friend insisted on joining this class I called my other friends too and told them about it and we all joined this class. It was a fitness class and not any dance class. Fitness class that consisted of working out without any weights or machines and a heavy way of workout. This seemed something new to me and I decided I shall give it a try. It was not just a Zumba class but it was a fitness class wherein they taught us many other forms of workout.

Every day we had different work out. This fitness class had working out 5 days a week and so I was up for such a commitment as Saturday and Sunday would be a resting time for me. This made me happy that my weekends would be free and I could enjoy with my friends on weekends. Although my week days were tiring as after college I would run to my fitness class and then it was a tiring day but I used to get good sleep after a good working.

  1. Monday consisted of aerobics and power yoga.

Pure soulful yoga is what we felt. I could really feel the abs hurting as I used to do my floor exercises. It was painful but I surely benefitted. Before that there was a warm up session and then there was aerobics. The best way to lose weight it increases your heart rate and makes you happy. You sweat out a lot. However it was fun to watch women of all age groups working out together and trying to use all the energy that they had.

  1. Tuesday there was floor exercises. Heavy workout again. After a hard day of aerobics and power yoga came another challenging part of our heavy Tuesday was the heavy workout of Tuesday. This was indeed more tiring as all the joints and hands used to pain.
  2. Day 3 Wednesday was our favourite day it was the Zumba day. We always waited for this day as we loved dancing. All of us were being taught steps as the trainer told us to follow one step at a time. We found it easy and interesting. There was a lot of booty shake and it was fun. There was a song being played especially the Zumba sons there are so many of them. Some of which include bujey. It was indeed a fun workout all women working out dancing in harmony to the tunes of the trainer.
  3. Day 4 Thursday one session that we hated probably I loved was kick boxing session. This session indeed required a lot of force and loads of energy. By the end of it our hands used to feel numb and our feet too. It was the toughfest session of the fitness class. But we always awaited Friday not because Friday was the last session for the week but Friday had a lovely session.
  4. Day 5 Friday fusion dance. This was our favourite Indian hip hop and Bollywood dance of the latest number while baby doll being the famous one.
